Syncope
Temporary loss of consciousness — a faint.
Definition
Syncope is brief loss of consciousness from reduced brain blood flow. Most common causes are benign (vasovagal, dehydration, low blood pressure) but syncope on exertion or with palpitations needs cardiac work-up.
