LDL Cholesterol
'Bad' cholesterol — drives atherosclerosis.
Definition
LDL carries cholesterol to tissues; high levels deposit in artery walls and cause atherosclerosis. Target levels depend on cardiovascular risk — from under 100 mg/dL for general health to under 55 in high-risk patients.
