Bradycardia

A heart rate under 60 beats per minute.

Definition

Bradycardia is a resting heart rate below 60 bpm. Often normal in athletes and during sleep. Pathological causes include conduction block, drugs (beta-blockers, digoxin), and hypothyroidism.
